In 1934, a chemical engineer was leisurely enjoying a refreshment at a Boston hotel. Unable to reach the olive at the bottom of his glass, he envisioned a pointed spear to retrieve it. Inspired, he added a space for the hotel's name and patented the original swizzle stick. Thus, Spir-it began!
